For more than 25 years, Calvin Washington has been welding, testing, and training welders for corporate companies, community colleges, and workforce development programs in the South.  As a graduate of Reid State Techincal College, he has combined his education, experience and knowledge to form one of the most recognizable welding programs in the Southeast. Holding multiple welding certifications, and being known to the industry as Hollywood. He has definitely became a welding icon in his generation. Calvin has held some of the highest supervisor positions in the Construction Industry. He has trained in the Dancraft Pipefitters Programs, the Wheels Of Learning, and now, one of the leading Curriculums known, the NCCER. He uses these guildelines as a standard for training at Global Tech Institute, where he is the Founder, President, and CEO. Global Tech Institute is an NCCER ACCREDITED TRAINING and EDUCATIONS FACILITY or ATEF under the Alabama Department of Education Workforce and license as a Privite School under the Alabama Community College System. Global Tech is one of the largest welders qualifications and testing facility in the Southeast. Calvin Washington has been awarded Educator of the Year for training people with disabilites, a member of N.A.W.D.A North Alabama workforce, and a welding consultant for many companies in the area. He is currently designing the first Confined Space Welding Training Station in the Country. As he continues to set the standards for welding, testing, and training, Global Tech Institute will continue to produce qualified craftsmen for the industry in the future.
